Today was great. It started out normal. Just the normal routine. School first, some tests here and there. There was even a matsuri today going to yasakuni jinja. After, I bought some t-shirts at Uni Qlo and got some money before I went to meet Tina. We went shopping and had lunch. Not routine, but normal when I get to meet up with her. I took the train home and noticed that the thing was crowded more than usual. Especially for the time of day...that's when everything fell apart.
The news on the train was about how trains had stopped. There was a huge accident somewhere off and a train had derailed. No details were given, but there was one warning issued: if you live in that direction, don't go home.
I was confused. Obviously that's a very odd thing to hear, but I thought maybe the accident was bad.
The trains were slow on the way home, and people getting on seemed more afraid of each other than usual. They were all staring at each other, inspecting each other and watching...for what I didn't know.
A man got on the stop before I got off. He was drenched in sweat and shaking. He kept to a corner and was watching everyone. He worried me so I was happy to get off the train.
On the way home...it happened. I was peacefully walking home when I saw a man run a red light. He swerved and stopped his car before running out of it. It took me a moment to notice that there had been a man leaning in his window. He pulled out, turned, and attacked the woman that was watching curiously. He started ripping at her flesh as her screams rose and the others started doing the same. More of them, so many.....
And that's when I ran. I ran all the way home and locked myself in my apartment. We have a great security system here. But I have little food to last more than a week. What are those...things?
I don't know, I just don't know what's going on. But we're all hiding. They keep throwing around words I don't understand and no one wants to explain it. They're all afraid....
of what?
